Ephemera

I found this in the office,
And thought it looked amazing.

(it's used to put labels on things)

POST CODE: B42_PHOTOS

This is for the postcode assignment. It's completely different to my original idea, but I think it's 100 times better.
I went to B42 and reacted to it to see how it would react to me.

Design of Decent

This is work for one of my assignment called 'the design of decent'
It took a while but i eventually got into it.

I chose to base my work on child soldiers (or the use of children in warfare) and these were a few of my outcomes.

AERODYNAMIC POSTER

I'm quite pleased with it.

Word Illustrations

This was a one week project I did late last year. Where i had to do come up with two illustrations for two different words, the 1st word being perturb, and the 2nd being nebulous. These were my final outcomes.

This one was based on the word Perturb, I didn't over complicate it because I only had one week to complete it. So i did allot sketchbook work then scanned some of it into my mac to create this collage built up of all things that i find perturbing.

For some reason the word Nebulous reminds me of old B-movies, it means unclear or hazy. But the word also can be use as Nebular which means a cluster of stars. So i came up with this retro b-movie style poster, with rather obvious title.

AERODYNAMIC...

This is my very own DINGBAT typeface, it's called Aerodynamic and it's based on aviation.

"Numbers not shown"

Postcode B42 Animation.

This is still a work in progress for my Postcode B42 assignment. But i Like where it's going.

The idea behind this is a kind of juxter position, I'm looking at the two elements of the postcode that stand out to me. The traditional things, like the old terrest houses, the pub and the Cathedral. With the more contemporary things like the powerlines, the cars with bass kicking out of the boot, and the and the multicultural environment that 10 or 20 years ago might not of been that way.

I didn't want to simply animate photographs that I had taken in the area, so I decided to represent the elements quite figuratively with symbols that imply the characteristics of the things that they speak for. I'm also working on a soundtrack that i think captures the environment in an equally effective way, and adds some depth to the animation.
